This goofy looking little leprechaun adorned her lunch today!
I started to try to do a completely GREEN lunch for her. Somewhere in there I ended up relaxing that goal a little, but there's still plenty of festive green in her lunch.
Using our favorite bunny egg mold we made a cute green bunny egg. The egg was decorated with black olive and carrot details. Here we used a vegetable peeler to get thin ribbons of carrot for the hair and nose. Sliced olives provided the details, using the end of a drinking straw to cut out circles for the eyes and strips for the hat and mouth.
The leprechaun bunny was finished off with a piece of green bow-tie pasta. To make colored pasta a few drops of food coloring added to the water before boiling works well. The main pasta dish is sprinkled with parmasean, and topped with a cheese four leaf clover made with heart cutters. A few of Annie's Bunny Graham Crackers and two Hershey's Chocolate Eggs with green wrappers made for a small treat.
For Fruit, we have a full serving of green grapes.
For Veggies, we have sliced pickle, sugar snap peas, and carrot curls. These were leftover curls from the hair for the leprechaun bunny, rolled up and placed on top of the peas. She's been a little anti carrot lately so maybe this will entice her to eat some.
Happy early St. Patrick's Day!!
